The Nest
The Nest is situated in Laughton, adjacent to Laughton Primary School welcoming babies and toddlers from the local villages of Ringmer, Ripe, Chalvington and Beddingham, as well as families from Lewes, Uckfield and Hailsham. The children benefit from being able to go for walks (or buggy rides) in the woods, to the local shop and to the school play area.
The Nest offers a welcoming, warm and cosy environment, making it feel like home from home, where staff follow the routines and structures that the babies are used to.
In the room there is a specific eating area, for children to sit together and socialise with each other and staff at mealtimes. In the middle of the room is plenty of space
for babies and toddlers to roam freely and safely. For rest time, there is an area that becomes calm and tranquil, with soft lighting and relaxing music playing in the background. The Nest has a cosy space for quiet time to look at books and a kitchen area to make tea for staff!
The needs of this age group are very specific and we were delighted to be able to add ‘The Nest’ to our provision in January 2019; it is a home-from-home, where staff follow the routines and structures that the babies are used to, whilst introducing them to new and exciting experiences.
